State Roadways and Event Restrictions

State Roadways
The City of Boston cannot provide permits for the following locations: 1101-1209 Boylston Street, ALL Charlesgate East, ALL Charlesgate West, 11-468 Park Drive, ALL Fenway, ALL Riverway, ALL Arborway, and ALL Jamaicaway. These are state owned roads. Additional information on state moving permits is provided here DCR Permits.
Event Restrictions
If you want a permit for the North End from July 1 - August 31, you must have permission from the City before applying online. Please call the Boston Transportation Department at 617-635-2560.

Online requirements:
  • You need a one day moving truck permit (standard size- 2 parking spaces)
  • Your moving date is at least two weeks away, and no more than eight weeks away.
